I AM THAT | 2012
The works in the I Am That series stems from an ancient Indian sutra Tat Tvam Asi, which translates to I see the other in myself and myself in others.
I regard each work in this series as a visual poem; various readily available or found materials are manipulated or juxtaposed together in each composition to create daily emotional reflections of the self and the surrounding environments. The title of each piece begins with the series name, I Am That..., and finishes with the descriptive language that allows the viewer to solidify the different intangible states more concretely. In example: I Am That…Broken Darkness.
